RetireTheChief

The following is the transcript of a Foellinger balcony narrative from April 14, 2000. It is an unedited excerpt from the original Chief dialogue document.

MS. MEG MINER: My name is Meg Miner. I am a graduate here at the Library and Information Science School. I have already sent a letter to the board and did receive an automated response on that that it was received. So I will keep my remarks brief. But I have heard some things here today in Foellinger that I like to add to the discussion. If the University's chief is intended as an honor, why is his likeness plastered on portable toilets on game day. As I said in my letter, the simple fact of the matter is the people you claim to honor is a serious dishonor. Please remove the Chief immediately. Thank you.

See the U.I. Dialogue on Chief Illiniwek page for more transcripts and information.
