I don't understand what all the fuss is about. If anything, by having a Native American mascot, I feel that the school is uplifting and praising the American Indian. I can't believe that schools are getting rid of these parts of American Heritage. I also don't understand why Native Americans think they are being exploited. Wake up!!! We are trying to show our respect for you and your heritage! If it has something to do with how you were treated in the 1800's guess what, everybody that had anything to do with moving Native Americans to Oklahoma on both sides are dead, so just deal with it. Please keep Chief Illiniwek.
