(Chief opinion: VeryFor)

I wish that I belonged to a group of people that had a strong enough heritage that they were even suggested as mascots. I do understand the other side and don't agree with names such as the Redskins. But when the actual tribe name is used, especially in an instance where past members of the tribe have showed appreciation and support of it's use, I just can't get behind a movement against it.

Being white (and not Irish), about the only mascot that I feel represents my heritage is the newly formed Washington Nationals. I better enjoy it while I can before immigrant groups join up against them.

If I were a member of the Illini, Blackhawk, Seminole, or any other tribe honored as mascots, my house would be draped in team colors.
