(Opinion: strongly anti-Chief)

I strongly support Carol Spindel's claim that use of Native Americans is wrong and hurtful. Use of Indian mascots indeed create hostile environment in schools. Elementary school children (including my own) suffer self-esteem and ridicule by those who understand the issue of mascots the least. I appreciate Carol going on the air and supporting Native American who want to eliminate Indian mascots and logos. It's time to retire "Chief Illiniwek". I am Native American and an advocate for elimination of Indian mascots in all schools.
