"Eric," 3/31/2005

(Chief opinion: NoComment)

Anyone who has ever seen the Chief Illiniwek knows that the Chief is shown the upmost respect. He does not run up and down the sidelines like a savage. He performs a dance and is proud of his heritage. The students, faculty, alumni and fans return that respect with their cheers and admiration. Anyone (activist) who thinks that this is disrepectful has their own agenda and need to stop wasting their efforts on such trivial matters. The reason there is so much racism and negativity in this world is due to people and groups who look and seek out ways to be offended. I honor the Chief and hope he will always stand proud at the University of Illinois.
