The defense of this cartoon character is deeply shameful. That the administrators and the Board of Trustees of UI held out as long as did is an embarassment to higher education.

In watching videos of this caricature I felt as though I was transported in time to the 1950s and the set of a B-movie, where the message was always white=good and red=bad.

Next up are the two most offensive: the Cleveland Indians and the Washington Redskins.
