(Opinion: strongly anti-Chief)

A number of years ago I wrote to Chicago's channel 2 news on this very subject.............I asked then and I ask now:

If the supposed "mascot" was a Watsui or Zulu warrior carrying a spear and jumping up and down........how long would it take for them (University of Illinois trustees) to ban the mascot? 10 seconds, 15 seconds? Maybe what they need is an alternative suggestion .............. there is no difference.........if one is wrong, both are!
