I am an alum from the 60's when the Chief was the best part of a football game. We admired the hard work the student who portrayed him put in to learn authentic dances.

If U of I has to give up the chief I guess we need to also rename the state. And, we might as well be modern and auction the right to name those entites to the higest corporate bidder. The right way to do things now is to pay homage to corporations not to the original residents of the area and their proud traditions of taking care of our planet.
