(Chief opinion: no comment)

For those who have felt the pain of racism, this is wrong; For those who know not the pain, this is acceptable. I watch this argument go on and on. It only hurts the reputation of the U of I to allow this to linger. Many of those opposed sound so much like those who at first opposed changing the nickname of Peking H. S. from "Chinks." Why is is that we can't have Sambo or use the "N" word, but it is alright to use an indian name and even Redskins, which is paramount to the "N" word. Those who argue against this doesn't know the pain of racism. I am a ND fan, I have no problem changing the nickname from Fighing Irish. It it helps the University, then do it. That is only right. I hate SDSU using Aztecs. To me that is an insult to those of Mexican descent.
