(Chief opinion: Anti)

I was happy to see the Chief go and be retired. I am Native American myself and I was saddened to see my Native American culture be stereotyped and used as other people's entertainment. The dance and all the costumes that Chief Illiniwek used is not honorable and not respecting Native Americans. Being honorable to the culture doesn't include someone dancing some fake dance on a basketball court or on a football field. So I am glad to see one less Indian mascot that is stereotypical.
