long live the mascot. If you want to get rid of the mascot, change the name of all indian states, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, etc. Also you can get rid of all human mascots such as Steelers, Vikings, Dodgers, Rangers, Cowboys, etc. The Indian Mascot allows others to realize that there is a group of people out there that is part of this land that we are trying to include into our society. My question to one and all, why not let our children know they are in our lives and let them ask us question about the history of the wrongs that happened on both sides of the fence. Do we do that about children of other groups of settlers and people that are born in the United States all of which by definition are Native American! At least we know these groups are here because they get a mascot!
