Welcome to RetireTheChief |
"mhdeer," 3/31/2005 (Chief opinion: VeryAnti) If the University of Illinois want to honor someone from their area. President Abraham Lincoln was a famous Illinois resident, practiced law there before he became president, Why not honor him? Have a college student walk around on stilts wearing a long black coat with a tall hat. I think that is appropriate to honor him. All the indigeneous Indian tribes that were originally from the Illinois area were either massacred or moved to other areas. Why honor a "Chief" who was regarded as a savage and killed. I think it would be much more prestigious to honor a past president.
